Does doing this actually make the computer faster because I saw a comment stating that their mac ran faster using sonoma.

Please help I did not have enough space on my disk to actually install sonoma what do i do.

I would tell anybody thinking of doing this that you really should make a Time Machine backup before doing this. The utility being described (OpenCore Legacy Patcher) *often* works, but sometimes, depending on your particular machine and what's been done to it over its lifetime, OCLP might get into a weird state. The code was written in a pretty conservative way, and so that means that if it encounters something that wasn't anticipated, it'll just stop working and leave you in a weird state. Sometimes that'll happen because it can't get the new OS installed. Sometimes it'll install it, but the Root Patches won't install (leaving your machine in a kind of unusable state).

It worked great. I'm a Windows guy who lately started doing some work on Apple computers. Recently I inherited an iMac, from someone who upgraded because it wouldn't work with her banking. It's allowed to use it as a learning tool and I have learned a lot in a short time. I upgraded it from High Sierra to Sonoma. For example when I replaced the hard drive for an SSD the fan began to always run at full speed. Apparently Apple has some temp sensor on the hard drive that isn't on generic hard drives/SSDs. There's an app that gives you control over the fans.

Went through the process for 2 Mac’s. Worked seemlessly for a 2103 MacBook Pro but on a late 2015 iMac it is giving me fits. Some things take forever to load sometimes apps randomly crash. Could not use migration assistant and had move some files back manually. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Reboots several times as in video and one time reboots the small loading bar pops up without showing the minutes remaining but it doesn't load it stays there forever ,tried to reinstall same issue,it freezes , imac 2011 3.5 i5

I had the exact same macbook as you, i tried to do here this but i had a smart error. That mac is now resting after more than 10 years of use and now i use a 2020 Macbook Pro M1 8Gb ram 500GB SSD

This exact thing just happened to me, and I did the same thing. I have a 2.9 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i9 MacBook Pro. Command R worked, and the utility scan was okay. Then, I reinstalled the OS, and everything was fine. But it happened again in one week. The second time, I brought it to Apple to run diagnostics. Everything seemed okay, but the technician said I might have a hardware issue. :( Now, I feel unsafe with this computer. What are your thoughts? Should I do a full wipe of the computer? It’s working, but I feel like I might be ready for an upgrade. However, I still think this computer might have some life left in it. Thoughts?

I attempted to install Sonoma on my computer using OCLP three times and it didn’t work

It's been happening even with it disabled its always been disabled. But the button under might help with it ill let yall know if the button under it works

When i hit the refi boot then download sonoma it says error and it shows me my hardrive and it says select another volume
